Over the past 3 years, the LEP has run a number of European Funding workshops to brief partners and business on funding opportunities available to them.
The events gave information on Government European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF), that cover the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
With key speakers from the Rural Payments Agency, DEFRA, DCLG and case studies from local businesses who had previously benefited from the schemes, the events gave delegates information on the application processes and the types of projects that would be eligible for funding.

LEP Summit Nov 2010
In November 2010 we invited 80 delegates to join us for the first Enterprise Partnership Summit, held in St Ives, to identify the key barriers to economic growth within our area.
Representatives from local businesses, the third sector, education, local authorities and Government departments gathered together to share their views on what the biggest barriers to growth in our region were, and how the LEP might be able to help overcome them.
The resulting information was used to create our four strategic areas of focus.
LEP Summit May 2012
In May 2012, we brought together 100 representatives from local businesses, the third sector, education, local authorities and Government departments to update them on the progress the LEP has made to date and to help us shape individual projects to tackle the four strategic areas of focus.
Then Chair, Neville Reyner CBE DL, BIS Director General Bernadette Kelly, Board Advisor Alex Plant and Interim Executive Director Glenn Athey addressed the crowd and launched the LEP’s new visioning tool that uses Google Earth to create a visual representation of the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities our area faces.

LEP Summit Nov 2013
In November 2013 we gathered together over 120 leaders from the private, public and third sector to help shape our Local Growth Strategy.
Strategy and Planning Director, Adrian Cannard, shared the work to date with delegates before moving into workshop sessions to gather detailed project ideas and feedback.
At the event, Chairman Mark Reeve also announced Round Two of Growing Places Funding, which will provide a £5 million pot for organisations to bid into to support the continued growth of our local economy.
