Steve Elsom

Steve is an experienced and creative leader, with a strong personal and external brand. He is a clear and concise communicator.

He currently heads up Lloyds Banking Group SME across the six counties of East England, with circa 15,000 customers and 150 front line and support staff, having previously held senior leadership positions across both Retail and Commercial banking.

He works closely with the business agencies, media and politicians across the region in supporting the SME agenda and is personally involved in several regional ventures including business mentoring and supporting the curriculum for entrepreneurs of the future, and has introduced local ‘dragons den’ business sessions for start-ups and fledgling businesses. Steve is a member of the IOD Regional council, a board member for the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP, and a board member for the Newmarket & District Chamber of Commerce, and an advisor to the New Anglia LEP Strategy forum.

Steve currently mentors three local businesses and several individuals both internal and external to the bank. He regularly presents around ‘Leadership’ and ‘Personal Brand’ to both commercial organisations and education establishments.

Steve supports several charities, including the Animal Health Trust, Little Havens Hospice and the Newmarket Festival Committee, and represents Lloyds as Regional Ambassador for East England, in respect of their ‘responsible business’ initiatives e.g. Money for Life, Business in the Community and Helping Britain Prosper.
