King’s Lynn

King’s Lynn and West Norfolk is located in the north west of our LEP area and is home to the historic town of King’s Lynn, beautiful Norfolk coastline and characteristic fen landscapes.

The area offers businesses a cost-effective base for a range of sectors, in particular technology and manufacturing where a core of world leading businesses in the sector are already based. In addition to technology and manufacturing, the area has strengths in advanced engineering, electronics, food manufacturing, life sciences, materials sciences, medical technologies and particular skills and expertise in research & development, innovation, and new product development thanks to its strong links to research and innovation knowledge bases at Cambridge and Norwich.

The local College of West Anglia, recently rated as outstanding, provides a range of skilled workers educating individuals up to degree level and as well as bespoke business training courses.

The area benefits from good transport links to London and the nearby cities of Cambridge, Norwich and Peterborough. The A10, A17 & A47 trunk roads also provide good links to all parts of the country. There is a direct rail service from King’s Lynn to Cambridge and London King’s Cross with onward connections to Europe via the neighbouring St Pancras International station. There are regular rail connections to other UK business centres including Manchester and Birmingham via Ely. London Stansted and Norwich International airports are nearby and offer excellent international travel links.
