From the moment discussions relating to the LEP began, infrastructure was at the forefront of the agenda. Local businesses reinforced its important to the LEP through our Summit and engagement work.

The LEP’s role is to seek ways to overcome infrastructure issues that are holding back the economic development of our area.

Whether it is by the provision of strategic funding for congested roads, campaigning for improvements to our rail network, or supporting work to deliver better broadband for both businesses, the LEP can help to move these issues forward.

Success will be progress on the key projects identified in our economic strategy and action plan.

The LEP have made an in principle commitment of £50 million towards the upgrading of the A14 (funded by future Business Rates receipts from Alconbury Enterprise Zone) making them the single largest contributor to the scheme and joined the A47 campaign group.
